I’m often guilty of using screens right up until bedtime and never really switching off properly. In an effort to relax my brain, somewhat, I’ve started listening to podcasts at night. I find it’s an easier way to consume knowledge and I listen to a mixture of marketing, business and inspirational series.

Here’s a few of my favourite marketing podcasts:

Brand Newsroom

Format: Panel interview with guests
Duration: 15 – 20 minutes

Produced by Lush Digital, Brand Newsroom is a weekly podcast that covers broad marketing topics from content marketing to PR. There’s a focus on communication effectiveness. The three hosts gel well together and are knowledgable, they’re joined with great guests like Rand Fishkin of Moz.

It’s important to keep improving your overall marketing and storytelling skills, regardless of your industry. This is a good series to listen to regularly to brush up your whole marketing toolkit.

The Craft of Marketing

Format: Individual host with guests
Duration: 15 – 20 minutes

Even though the episodes have titles like “The Ballers Guide to SEO” and “Growth hacking your way to predictable, repeatable success”, the advice is solid and the guests are first-class. This weekly podcast focuses on marketing broadly for both marketing professionals and entrepreneurs.

Past guests have included Seth Godin and Mark Roberge of Hubspot. The host, Seth Price, is always well-researched and prompts with good leading questions.

Perpetual Traffic

Format: Panel interview with guests
Duration: 30-40 minutes

Perpetual Marketing focuses on paid traffic digital campaigns. This tight focus allows them to delves into a lot more detail with plenty of facts and figures. It’s a good one if you have a problem that matches an episode theme and you want to get detailed advice. You’ll come away with step-by-step processes so you can get started. I really enjoyed the recent webinar episode as it was timely to my own research. I came away with 5 or 6 ideas I’d implement tomorrow. I’d suggest you pick and choose episodes on topics you want to deep dive into.

Coming soon: The Tech Marketer Podcast

I’m excited to launch my own podcast in the next few weeks. It will be a weekly series alternating between guest interviews with other tech marketers and shorter knowledge bites.

My first four guests are lined up and interviews are taking place (eekkk no turning back now!).
